Close inspection shows this "4 Spray Pattern” FANHAO pistol -grip hose nozzle shows it to be made of metal from inlet to the nozzle end. The bottom garden hose thread is cleanly made and smooth, but it’s not brass, so over time it may develop some galvanic corrosion if used with a brass hose end. I’d recommend a light coating of waterproof grease on the threads to limit that possibility.The discharge end has a very heavy-duty brass nozzle with a rotating collar that easily adjusts the water from a gentle large cone to a powerful single stream. I really like the fact that the "on-off” function is completely separate from the "pattern” adjustment, as it makes plant watering and car washing much easier. Once you get the pattern just right for the job, you can shut off the flow and when you turn it back on, you are right where you left off.The thumb control of the water flow rate is very convenient and comfortably placed and requires less than a quarter turn to go from off to full flow. The thumb lever itself is made of plastic, and it remains to be seen how that will hold up in the Arizona sun. Since the majority of this nozzle is metal, I think the company should have made this one last moving piece of metal also.As for the pistol grip handle, it too. is metal but covered with plastic, but in Arizona that’s almost a necessity since the water stored in a garden hose can become hot enough to burn you in no time. An all-metal grip would certainly become uncomfortably hot and impossible to hold on to some days before the hot hose water is displaced.This looks and feels heavy duty and only time will tell if it survives in the sunny yard. So far, it works smoothly and looks like it should last a long time.
