Easy to use and no leaks. Makes plumbing work much safer. The flame is not needed. It's worth it. Update: February 1st, 2017 Eight months after installation I accidentally twisted this fitting when removing the top faucet hose. The SharkBite started leaking so I shut off the water supply and tried lowering the fitting to 1/2 the copper pipe. Vain. Still in flow. Decided to replace the SharkBite with a compression fit. Found the SharkBite removal tool, an au-shaped plastic device. I attached it to the fitting and no matter how hard I tried, the fitting would not come off. Used a pipe cutter for melee combat and cut off the Sharkbite along with a piece of pipe. Replaced the Sharkbite with a compression fit and finished the job. Disappointed and will avoid SharkBite in the future.
