Review on πŸ“· TTartisan 50mm F1.2 APS-C Format Lens: Manual Focus with Large Aperture for Panasonic & Olympus M4/3 Mirrorless Cameras by Cindy Vang

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Slightly soft but creamy bokeh for M43

For a large aperture lens, you can't beat the price. It's soft wide open but sharpens at f/2.0. Great low light lens on the M43. The focus ring is very smooth and very satisfying. The assembly is all metal, quality can be felt. A bit heavy, the heaviest for the M43 I have, but not bad. There are no electrical connections, so the camera must be set up without using a lens. Information about the aperture value in the image metadata is also not retrieved. It's hard to miss, and at 100mm (crop 2.0) it's a great focal length. The bokeh is nice, the quality is better than I expected. The hand controls are fun and controllable. It's also a great lens for B-roll videos. I want the MIN. The distance was slightly closer, but it's not a macro lens, that would just be an added benefit. Generally good.

Pros
  • M4/3 mount lens/APS-C format
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
