Review on Curt 11058 Class 1 Trailer Hitch with 1-1/4-Inch Receiver, Suitable for Specific Honda Fit Models by Matthew Rodenbaugh

Like the other reviewer, the product has pre-drilled holes that don't line up perfectly.

As mentioned in one review, the pre-drilled holes are misaligned. In my case, the holes in the front skid plate were aligned and there was no side-to-side skewing. However, the distance between the holes in the front base plate and the rear U-bolt holes is less than about 4mm. This means that while the front bolts sit flush and clean, the rear U-bolt enters the holes at a 20 degree angle and the nuts cannot be tightened flush. This might not matter if you're just using the bike hitch. Luggage carrier or light-duty carrier. And this shouldn't cause traction (lateral force) problems for a given trailer weight. But since that offset, curved U-bolt is primarily designed to support the weight (vertical force) of the tongue, I wouldn't feel comfortable loading the hitch anywhere near the 150lbs the manufacturer promised. particularly in dynamic situations such as impacts on uneven road surfaces where vertical forces are amplified. Please keep this in mind when considering your usage requirements before ordering.

Pros
  • RELIABLE STRENGTH. With a durable welded steel construction, this Class 1 hitch is rated for 1500 lbs. gross trailer weight and 150 lbs. Drawbar weight (limited to lowest rated drawbar component)
Cons
  • Available in black only
