Surprisingly short distance for such a device. Then I went to a better buy and got the RCA version of this unit and it worked fine. An interesting note: Both devices seem to be identical from the inside. In fact, the instructions for both articles were identical—the same words were used on each page. I'm not sure why there is such a difference in performance (maybe I was just slightly wrong), but I would advise you to think twice about this point. I was able to send it back but had to pay for all shipping costs - something you don't have to do if you have to ship it back to your local store.
