Review on πŸ” Celestron 93493 CPC 1100 Heavy Duty Tripod in Black/Silver by Cody Mckechnie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They mean heavy use

I needed a stronger tripod to support my Celestron Nexstar 8 SE and the new wedge I bought for it. The combined weight of all this and the StarSense Autoalign camera I have is too much for the OEM tripod that came with my 8SE. Well, meaty is what I have. It is extremely stable even when the legs are fully extended. Sure, you'll get a lot of jiggling when you bump your feet, but that's to be expected. But the shaking is not as strong as with my old tripod. Minimal or no leg extension gives you an extremely stable platform for astrophotography. One feature I really like is the spirit level built into the mount itself. I was always afraid of losing the bubble level that came with my old tripod. The lack of a permanent attachment meant it could be lost. Weight: It's heavy. Weight approx. 27 kg without packaging. But that's to be expected. In general, I am very satisfied with it and have long regretted not having bought it.
