Review on ๐Ÿ”ช The Ultimate Morakniv Allround Multi-Purpose Fixed Blade Knife: Sandvik Stainless Steel Blade, 8.1-Inch, Black by Brandon Battaglia

Inexpensive Can't believe it's not worth more

Mora knives for a Swedish company are a solid choice for outdoor pursuits. I've had Ka Bars, Cold Steel, Buck Knives, Leatherman's, Victorinox, Benchmade etc. My first knife was a Victorinox when I became a Boy Scout. My father is a hunter and outdoor enthusiast. Over time we have acquired custom knives from Frank Gonzalez or Chris Reeves which are expensive to say the least. For the past 25 years, we've had both cheap knives (you get what you pay for) and expensive knives. I was first introduced to Mora knives at a week-long Bushman-style survival school my father and I attended in Flagstaff. Our instructor, including a second instructor who served in the Danish army, cursed Mora knives. They have this almost iconic status and we were skeptical that the conversations about using a knife as a tool and choosing the right knife for the outdoors almost looked like a commercial at times. We've used our Cold Steel and Ka Bar fixed blades, but while in Arizona we were very impressed with the Mora blades. The ones they used were called their Bushmasters series, and they were shorter blades than the ones I'm reviewing here. It costs between $15 and $20 depending on where and who you bought it from. But from what I experienced the knife was strong and sharp but VERY light. Hold this knife in your hand and you won't think about it. It has a light feel which gives it a cheap feel, don't be fooled. The knife is VERY sharp. The blade will flex a bit due to its thinness, but you can use it for general light work. This one I bought was the largest I could find from Revain and being new to the brand I don't know if it is the largest available from the company. Anyway I bought this as a Christmas present for my dad and thought he would be thrilled to have his first Mora knife. To my surprise, he also bought me a Mora, but Bushmasters from one of his catalog knife companies, but of course he paid more than me, I'm pretty sure. When I look at this knife that my dad gave me, I think it's good for filleting fish or butterflies like we grill in Texas, but this knife is a lot bigger and you can do a lot with it. Over time I will update this post on how the knife holds up.

Pros
