I first bought the included ring for my phone and then decided to buy it when I need to use the maps app on my phone. I was initially a bit confused about how to attach it to the vent because it felt so loose (the ring twists to tighten the clamp, yes), but when I figured it out it was smooth. It seems like all the negative reviews are about using an adhesive disc instead of a bleed clip, but I was planning on using a bleed clip so I wasn't worried about that. It hasn't let me down yet; The only time he dropped my phone was when I wasn't careful to orient the phone properly. I use it almost every time I'm in the car so I can control the music I'm playing on my stereo via Bluetooth or peek at the preview when I get text.
