I have a Dynomax exhaust on a 126 inch Ford Ranger XLT wheelbase. This is my second muffler purchase as the length is exactly what I needed for the exhaust pipe I bought. The first lasted about 5 years on Michigan roads (potholes, NVH, salt) before a hole in the corner rusted. The new muffler is on and it runs quietly. Connect a shop vacuum to the outlet of the exhaust pipe to create suction that will help pull the sealant into any gaps. You will hear the leak shut up as you apply the sealant. You'll find other leaks where it whistles (or splashes water on each joint). Used this method to repair a cracked Y-pipe and caulk a broken bolt on the back of the passenger exhaust manifold (Hi-T-Emp exhaust cement used here).
