NO performance silencer!

The name of the silencer "Quiet FLOW" made me think it must have a certain capacity. I bought two 2-1/2" versions for my 500hp car. When I received them I was shocked at how low the intake manifolds were. It goes from 2-1/2" to 1-3". /4". This is indeed a 1-3/4" muffler. Return these. I'll try Dynomax next time.

Not a replacement for OEM

This muffler was well built, easy to install and sounded great (really quiet). I drove the car less than ten miles and went back to the shop to recheck all the suspensions and found that both mufflers were completely warped in the center section. There doesn't appear to be any support in the center of these mufflers, and as they got hot they deformed. Both mufflers had matching suspension front and rear. I've never seen anything like it and I've been a mechanic for over forty years.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • It's OK

It started rattling after a few months

I really liked these mufflers when we installed them on my son's truck. It was a dual-exhaust setup on a 375-hp small-block Chevy. However, after about a few months, they developed an internal rattling noise. We added extra hangers because we thought it would be a problem, but the audio stayed. It was especially noticeable when you started the truck, but once they warmed up it mostly subsided. I know it was in the muffler because you could take a 2x4 piece and push it against the muffler body…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Communication with seller

I have a 1985 Olds Cutlass interior that I have completely redesigned. Including a 468 Big Block Chevy engine (.060 instead of 454), needless to say, even with the all-new 2-1/2-inch exhaust, it was pretty loud at full throttle. I bought these mufflers to make the car really quiet even if I would have sacrificed performance. To make it short. I blew up a big block, put in a healthy little block and these silencers. There's a nice rumble at idle, and when you hit full throttle it's nice and…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Unreliable

2000 Aftermarket Ranger Exhaust Replacement

I have a Dynomax exhaust on a 126 inch Ford Ranger XLT wheelbase. This is my second muffler purchase as the length is exactly what I needed for the exhaust pipe I bought. The first lasted about 5 years on Michigan roads (potholes, NVH, salt) before a hole in the corner rusted. The new muffler is on and it runs quietly. Connect a shop vacuum to the outlet of the exhaust pipe to create suction that will help pull the sealant into any gaps. You will hear the leak shut up as you apply the sealant…
