I bought this to set up two headsets using the optical output. Obviously everything was connected and hidden behind the TV, so it wasn't an eyesore. I connected it to USB power so it always has power. After installation it worked perfectly, but not the next day. I had to manually hide behind the TV and turn it back on. I did this for three days and it got really annoying. In the event that something was set up incorrectly, I contacted the company to inquire about this issue and how I can set it up to keep it always on and ready to go. After a week of email exchanges, it was finally said that the device worked perfectly, but was not intended for continuous use. In fact, the design of the device was poorly thought out. Their first offer was to return it (which I did) and buy their more expensive device (which I didn't). Their customer service was poor at best. I bought another similar device that was actually cheaper than this one and it worked great. It does not turn off between uses. If you don't want to get up and turn it on every time you want to use the device, stay away from this device.
