This was the first eyepiece I bought after using the 10mm and 25mm eyepieces that came with the Celestron 114az Newtonian reflector which I recently bought would have. I don't have enough experience to say if this eyepiece is great on its own. I will say that it is much better than what came with the telescope. (I also wanted children to have little trouble seeing things.) Under good to good viewing conditions, binary stars seem to resolve slightly better. The clusters also appear to be more defined and some nebulae have become visible. I have moderate light pollution and prior to the observation I did NOT allow my eyesight to adjust. I recommend longer eyecups to keep peripheral vision dark with long eye relief detail, but that's just personal preference. with this eyepiece.
