Review on NVR2108HS 8P 4KS2 Channel Network Recorder Upgratable by John Greene

Good entry-level NVR

This is a good NVR compared to the cheap NVRs you can find here on Amazon. Cons: It's a bit slow and the interface isn't very intuitive, it also had some hard drive issues, but it worked fine after formatting. This is a dual core and 8 channel DVR. I was arguing with myself about getting another version (quad core and 4ch) to finally solve this because once you find the camera bug you can't stop adding more cameras to your system. However, it might be worth considering the quad-core version as it's a bit slow when navigating the GUI and playback is ok. I have 3 different brands of cameras: Zmodo (worst brand ever), Wyze and Amcrest. The only one that connects directly to the NVR is Amcrest, and it works as it should, albeit with less playability than if you access the camera directly from a browser. Zmodos are onvif compatible and this dash cam accepts them from my home network with no problem. Finally, with Wyze I use the rtsp protocol and it works fine too (although the image freezes from time to time). Overall this is a good entry-level NVR, it may seem expensive at first but will save you money in the long run. walk (trust me I've been there).

Pros
  • Security and surveillance
Cons
  • Hard to say
