I bought this to get my second daughter's hands and feet (I thought this would be easier than using the ink I did with my first!). I was really excited because the presentation is really nice, but there are some issues that made the finished product disappointing. Here are the issues:The clay was great to work with at first and the video they have you watch before starting was helpful, except it left out a few important details that I think caused mine to turn out less than satisfactory. They give you a wooden dowel rod to roll out the clay into the recessed spot in the frame backing. Because it is wooden and not some type of plastic, the clay was drying SUPER fast because the wood would absorb moisture from the clay as I rolled it out.The other thing about the dowel rod that was NOT helpful is that it was cut to a length that was just shy (I believe a quarter of an inch?) of the width of the recessed area. This made rolling the clay out smooth and evenly VERY difficult and tedious. These two big issues could be resolved if they provided a plastic, (non porous) rolling pin that was cut to the exact width of the opening for the clay to go into.Because the clay dried so quickly (as a result of the wooden dowel rod), when I went to push my daughter's feet and hands into it, it was cracking from the pressure! It was SO disappointing. And I did her hands and feet immediately after getting the clay rolled and smoothed. I can't imagine how sad it would have been if I had waited 10 minutes longer! The instructions should really advise users to do the hands and feet immediately after rolling the clay out. There is no where in the video or instructions that talks about that. In fact, the instructions imply that the clay will stay wet for a pretty long time because they tell the user that the clay won't be completely dried for several days (if I remember right). The last issue that made it even more disappointing to me, was that the photo mat (that goes between the glass and the frame backing (with the clay and photos) is not cut centered over the opening for the hands and feet! That means that my daughter's finger tips and toes are cut off on the left side! I was so sad!The last complaint I have about the product is that the hinge on the back (that holds the kickstand onto the back of the frame) is very loose and is not sturdy and strong enough to hold the frame upright.I hope the manufacturer can fix these issues. I think if they were able to that this could be a really great product. I hope this helps someone else!
