This vegetable peeler has a fine serrated blade. It's really sharp, and on the other hand, it removes incredibly thin slices of skin, saving more potatoes, apples, or whatever you're cooking. It also makes the surface slightly wavy, making it less likely to fall off. Defects? Do not miss. If you pin yourself down with this item, it may bleed. I love it, but now I use it with the same care as any other sharp object in my kitchen, having only nailed myself with it once. I have calluses so no real harm but I don't think I would allow a child to use it. Buy it, but respect it.
