I bought this remote control to replace an original Hunter remote that had failed on one of our ceiling fans. This is a very simple installation and I installed it above a false ceiling but outside the electrical box. As others have pointed out, this is a large device so make sure you have space to mount it if space is tight. The control unit will beep when using the remote control. It doesn't bother me, but it's audible if you think it bothers you. Eventually, when power goes out and is restored, the light will come on regardless of whether it was on or off at the time of the power outage. . One star off for this minor inconvenience.
