Works well but not durable enough

We have a dog (Irish Setter Standard Poodle mix) with severe allergies, including allergies to various grasses and weeds. After his third visit to the vet for excessive chewing on his paws, I started looking for socks to wear outside in the spring when his allergies flare up and when his allergies flare up. They have many advantages and one major disadvantage. Pros: 1. Easy to get on and off which is great.2. they hold up well. He can take them off when running at full speed or playing and jumping, but they stay in place during walking and moderate physical exertion.3. Waterproof yet flexible outsole. Of all the boots we tried, he liked these best because they moved with his foot. They also cover part of his leg. Many dog boots and socks are more like booties and do not cover the wrists and ankles. They do and it's great for his allergies. Disadvantages: 1. Durability! These socks could have gotten five stars if the knitted part of the sock wasn't strong enough. Velcro may tear the sock if reused (pulling the velcro to put the sock on and off will tear the fabric underneath). Also, one of the plus points is that these socks fit snugly on the dog's paw, which also means they won't catch on dewclaws and tear. If you use them every time your dog goes outside like we've done in the past, they wear out quickly. the fabric could be a little more durable, i would be satisfied with the product.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
