Be active and keep your fingers crossed!

I've heard too many stories of people buying them AFTER an incident. I'm not alone. I will learn from their mistakes to save my fingers. I used a modified piece of wood as the pusher and while it worked well it didn't provide good downward pressure. The variety of what you get is good for most situations that you need on a table saw. I feel much more comfortable cutting Dado. Even though the blades don't cut through, they allow me to apply good pressure to the part without putting my fingers millimeters under the blades.
