Good but other brands are preferred

If you are looking for an affordable alternative to expensive brands I would recommend that you look further or steer clear of more expensive brands. The mixed bag has about half half patterns for unis, which is more print than what comes with prints and solids packs, so here's the thing. The prints are pretty cute too, and as another reviewer mentioned, there are some polka dots. I would say 70% of the drawings were polka dots. The hair quality was good but not entirely satisfactory. Most of the material on the tapes, especially the printed ones, was quite rough and scratchy, which isn't TOO annoying, but makes the lower quality compared to other brands more apparent. I can't say for sure how much they don't harm them, but the rough stuff makes me doubt they're as gentle on your hair as the other guys (I have coarse, thick Asian hair that I didn't style in layers last time - so even thicker than usual - and I think that says something if I'm nervous about potential hair damage). Another quality feature is that all ties tie a little differently, some will be tighter, some will be looser and most will need re-tying. Again, nothing disastrously low quality, but it's definitely not great. The chemical smell that people have been talking about is pretty strong right out of the bag, but you can live with that. They hold up quite well on first use but I have yet to see how well they hold up over time. I also bought a pack of Emi-Jay, original wrinkle free ribbons and good branded ribbons to compare and see if the brand name really matters. Below I will summarize how I feel about other brands. (Quick note: when I rate how well they hold up, I tie all my hair in a ponytail. My hair is quite thick and heavy, so if it suits me, it will probably suit you. If you like braids or small ponytails , I think most brands will be fine.) Emi-jay My impression of them is that they are of excellent quality, although I can't yet say how well they will hold up over time. One small difference I noticed between these and the other two brands is that the small tape label is cut at an angle instead of straight. It makes Emi-Jay look more cute and upscale if you like it. If you want to get them for a cheaper price, they have flash sales that you can email about and a sale category on their website. They hold up well, are soft and comfortable when worn on the wrist, and most likely don't damage hair as much as Kenz Laurenz's spiky ones. They are also thicker in width and the tie label is longer. But again, quite expensive for a product that usually has to be bought in bulk, so more of a functional fashion accessory than a useful hair product. GoodySo incredibly free! They don't hold my hair as well as two other brands. I would say that Kenz Laurenz only passes this test because the stiffness of their hair ties provides a firm hold and can really hold my heavy hair, although arguably more damaging and uncomfortable on my wrist for long periods of time. . However, the beautiful material of the band is soft and comfortable on the wrist and seems gentler on the hair. They can work well for finer, finer hair if you wrap it three times, or buns and loose ponytails for people with hair like mine. For me they only do it twice so it slips off too easily. I'll be having a few more Emi-Jay packs arriving soon with some of their Flexx hair ties which I'm looking forward to because they're built for training and can be stronger and hold up better than regular guys. I hope they will be a better investment than they were.
