Poor sound quality no matter what headphones you use

I wanted to love these headphones and expected them to at least like them, but no. The design is good, they sit well in the ears. However, the sound quality is abysmal and the active noise cancellation (ANC) leaves a lot to be desired. I wasn't impressed. When I first opened it I was very frustrated trying to pair it with my phone. As it turned out, they had nothing to do with the case. There were two pieces of transparent plastic protecting the connectors. It's probably fine for shipping, but I'd like the removal instructions to be mentioned as it took me a while to find the problem. As soon as I connected them, I encountered another problem. They are always connected to my phone even when they are in the charging case. I was walking around the house talking on the phone when by chance they decided to connect and end the call. This left me with the option of permanently turning off Bluetooth or "forgettingโ€ these headphones after each pairing. I've never had this problem with other Bluetooth headphones. The sound quality is terrible. There's no way around it. If you're transitioning from $20 headphones this might seem like a step up, but for me it was a big step down from the $45 pair I used before. They sound harsh and weak. No bass, no richness I'm used to. Also, ANC is terrible. The difference between on and off is almost indistinguishable, except that the battery drains faster when it's on. Turning it on is also annoying. The controls are simple touch controls which I thought I would like. However, it is so easy to accidentally click them. I knock and comb my hair behind my ears. I tap them and put them in my ears. I tap them and take them out of my ears. I click them twice when I wanted to click them once. The list goes on. They are very sensitive and easy to hit. Overall I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Save some money and buy a cheaper pair, they don't offer more and in some cases less.
