Review on ๐Ÿพ Amazon Basics Stackable Pet Kennel: Heavy Duty Design with Tray for Easy Maintenance by Zoey Vaughn

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Like.nr.: Kennel

I really like the look of the cages. Now I have two of them, 48 and 42 inches. I'm waiting for a second 42" cage. I'm going to get a second doberman in spring and plan to put her cage next to another 42" cage. So I ordered them individually, obviously I like them. BUT they could be a lot better be! A screw falling out of the bottom of the door? This should be fixed by the manufacturer, not us! My husband disassembled the bottom to attach the screws holding the door in place. We spend as much time as we need to, teaching our dogs to love their cages so there won't be a cage abusing dog.The puppy we have now is a doberman, he is strong and still a puppy with all the energy that a puppy has but he is happy in his cage he likes it the door will come off your drawer just plan it and take proactive actions to solve this problem that means for us to tighten the screw I asked my husband if he wanted that I cancel the appointment we were waiting for. But he said no, that this time he would put it first instead of waiting for the door to fall down. Also, shipping takes forever, so plan accordingly and order ahead of time before you need it. If they were stronger they would get 5 stars because they look good and the dog is on a plastic tray. I will not put my dog on a wire floor so I only buy dog crates that have them on a plastic tray. My dogs are well behaved so they are very rarely in a cage (puppies) and need to be potty trained in them. Maybe that's why some people like a dog on a metal wire floor? So I like that the tray is on top of the floor. My dogs are also trained to accept the cage without tipping over so they don't do anything in the cage that would cause it to fall apart. I do NOT think this cage would in any way stand up to a dog that did NOT want to be in a cage. If you have a dog that tries to get out of the cage then this one is very easy and I expect it to fall apart. But now I have two of these and I'm hoping that one day I'll get the last one I've been waiting for. and I wait. and I wait. Update: A replacement for my bent box has arrived replacing the missing screws that fell out of the unit. So I downgraded my rating and suggested that you order this crate ahead of time if you want this crate for your pup. I will be there for the 4th attempt. Luckily for us, our next dog won't be with us until next spring, so we'll keep looking for an intact one. They are packed very badly. It is also impractical that you cannot simply send in the missing screws. They don't look like normal screws. But what a waste of time to send back a large heavy item due to 4 missing screws.

Pros
  • They bring joy
Cons
  • Not everything fits
