Review on Dorman 932 201 Driveshaft Joint Kit by Richard Cuneo

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good, but could be better

Significantly cheaper than the entire front drive axle. This kit eliminates the source of the problem - the CV joint on the back of the front shaft. The supplied screws were too short so make sure you reuse the original screws. It took 1.5 years to repair before I noticed a small 2cm cut on the rubber boot. Unfortunately by this point all the grease had come out, the connection was dirty and not in the best condition. Over time I've found that there are several warning signs that alert you that this connection may fail. 1) When initially shifting from park to drive, you may hear a slight ringing or ringing. This is probably play in the joint, due to which little lubricant is left inside. 2) Transmission "lazy" shifts to low gear while driving. Example: if it should shift at around 2500 rpm, you might find that it shifts to 3000+, and when you let off the gas it shifts. 3) Loud knocking, vibration mainly at the front of the car near the driver. Typically around 20mph+ when moving. If Scenario 3 occurs, the joint will likely need a full service and you will need a tug. If the quality of the wellies was better this kit would be a 5 star product. Due to the poor quality of the dust bags, frequent checks should be carried out with regular oil changes.
