I bought a new MacBook Pro (2018) dual monitor and ordered this unit from Revain. I fell in love with her immediately as she complemented my new system perfectly. It lasted 3 days and then suddenly and completely stopped working. Tried new cables - no luck. I've tried four Thunderbolt 3 ports, all four with no success. Every time I connect, I get a "Can't use Thunderbolt accessory" error on my Mac. I'm sending it back. It worked so well for 3 days I was tempted to order another one as this one broke as it worked and then suddenly broke down. HOWEVER, I am somewhat dissatisfied with ordering another item. I've searched the Mac communities for this error message and found that the latest MacBook Pros have a software lock on all Thunderbolt 3 devices that aren't "certified" by Apple. According to discussions, the error message "Unable to use Thunderbolt Accessory" indicates that the item has not been "certified" by Apple and is being blocked. The vendor claims its product is "Mac certified" but doesn't say who performed the certification, i.e. whether it was certified by Apple or some other third party and unqualified party. I would feel more confident if their ads said "Certified by Apple".
