The product arrived earlier than expected. It was very easy to install. I should have taken photos prior to installation but I was too excited to look. The reason for the 5 stars is that it fixes a major design flaw. BMW with $2 plastic and two sticky pads. So the item has two sticky pads on the bottom that you use to attach the cup holder to a small shelf just in front of where the factory cup holders recede. I first cleaned the spot and then glued it. It fits very snugly and looks like it came from the factory. Actually, it should have been like this from the factory. The only things I have is that I don't know how well the sticky pads will hold up over time and the two cup holes are two different sizes. The one on the left can hold a can of soda and the bottom of a large mug of McDonald's iced tea. The right one that you can put a soda can in if you push it in, but it fits snugly and snugly. That's what you need if you're installing a cup holder in a car that the Germans never intended to put a cup holder in. Losing a little storage space is totally worth having a working drink holder.
