Review on ⚡ F Type Lightning Arrestor Female to Female Bulkhead: O-Ring, 3GHz, 75 ohm with 90V Gas Tube Discharge - TV Surge Protector Surge Arrester by Michael Hogate

I purchased this arrester after a lightning strike near our home damaged our cable modem. Even though I installed whole-house surge protection in the main electrical panel and the cable modem and router were protected by an APC UPS, the modem was still damaged and needed to be replaced. The only connection to the modem that wasn't secure was the coaxial line. I connected this unit to the house coax and mounted it in a 4" x 4" universal waterproof box as shown in the pictures. This review is based on physical design only. The device feels durable, the discharge tube can be easily removed. The screw on the ground terminal can work loose if you turn the ground terminal (deduct 1 star) but is quite reliable when sealed in the case as shown in the photos. I also took the extra precaution of soldering the ground wire to the terminal. Time will tell if this really protects my modem.
