Looks solid

I purchased this surge arrester after a lightning strike near our home damaged our cable modem. Even though I installed whole-house surge protection in the main electrical panel and the cable modem and router were protected by an APC UPS, the modem was still damaged and needed to be replaced. The only connection to the modem that wasn't secure was the coaxial line. I connected this unit to the house coax and mounted it in a universal 4" x 4" waterproof box as shown in the pictures. This review…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Very expensive

Application: Surge arrester for terrestrial TV antennas. (I have 120ft of coax running from my 24ft antenna tower to my house entry point (see tower picture)) DC-Through Compatible for Winegard LNA Boost XT HDTV Preamp: I haven't experienced any noticeable signal loss. I know this because I measured the signal strength before and after installation. Quality: incredibly well built; It's heavy, durable and very well made. This is really a quality product. Why I love this product: I love the gas…

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Looks best in surge protector

Hope this never gets tested I bought a ground clip from a blue shop that starts with an L so I can get a nice solid connection to the ground wire, that's about 2 feet from the 8 foot ground rod. The ground wire is 8 gauge and attaches to the ground rod with a ground clamp. From there it goes to the coax ground block and through the ground lug and onto the down conductor. Use the grounding clamps instead of the small grommet provided, a real lightning strike will burn right through this grommet…

Pros
  • Same as everything so far
Cons
  • Expensive

Makes a well-made and solid impression.

Was glad to find these affordable F Type Lightning Rods. I use them for 4G LTE cellular antennas running over 75ohm RG6 cables. Yes, I know the spec says I should use a 50 ohm cable, but I'm not doing it out of purely personal preference. I would give these surge arresters a full 5 stars except for one fact: the included ground screw is too long and does not tighten when grounded. tip (or a ground strap, for that matter). Because the screws have thin threads, it's quite difficult to find the…
