I moved abroad and had to take my two cats with me. Because they are small, they were allowed to fly in the cabin as long as they fit in a backpack that fits under the front seat. My mom and I did a little research and found that this backpack met all of my airline's requirements so we bought 2 of these. One cat weighs 4 kg (approx. 8 lbs) and the other weighs 4.5 kg (approx. 10 lbs) and they both fit very comfortably in a backpack. The holes made them easily accessible, especially in flight when I wanted to pet/pet them. They slept well and had enough room to roll over whether they were backpacking or lying down. Backpacks have side pockets that are handy for storing groceries, some toys, and leashes. I would definitely recommend this backpack for international or other animal transport - it's well made, sturdy and comfortable.
