Review on 🔑 Dorman 13731 Keyless Entry Remote 5 Button: OE FIX for Select Models by Cameron Kennedy

I was a little concerned this might not work after reading some of the reviews. However, this worked fine on my 2008 Chevy Malibu Classic LT. I also purchased two additional key fobs from KeylessOptions here - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KTIR1ZU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I was able to program all three key fobs in one go without any problems and without the original key fob. I was worried it wouldn't work without the original FOB because the package mentions it's required for some reason, but I didn't have it. All three key fobs I've used were brand new, unprogrammed (this one and two separate ones I bought from KeylessOptions). My guess is this could just mean you need a similar keychain and not the real original. Here are the instructions I followed to program the keyfobs.1. I got in the car and closed all the doors.2. All doors are locked.3. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the on position. (Turn the key all the way without starting the car).4. Connect the provided programmer to the vehicle's OBD2 port.5. I waited for the LED on the programmer to light up and the programmer to beep. (After the programmer beeped, the indicator started blinking red.) 6. I turned on the fob and held the lock and unlock buttons for about 8-10 seconds until the programmer beeped. As soon as it beeped I checked the FOB to make sure it was working. Repeat the steps for additional fobs.8. After that I turned off the machine and removed the programmer. That's all. It took me 5 minutes max to program all three. The programmer was a bit difficult to unplug from the OBD2 port, but it turned out fine. You have to make sure you have programmed all the FOBs at once, including all the originals, you still have BCs, according to others, the FOB will reset every time you use the programmer.
