Review on High-Performance 2 Pack: DEF Ignition Coil for Kawasaki FR, FS, FX Series Engines (21171-0743, 21171-0711 Replacement) by Dave Hunt

Installed a pair on a 3 year old FR 651V. Installation took about 30 minutes. You have to arrange them correctly. There is a video on You Tube showing the steps and how to adjust the gap. The original coils seem to break when the mower gets hot. After about 20 minutes of mowing, it gets stuck and dies. It was like running out of gas, but it had nothing to do with the fuel. I think one of the coils was producing a weak spark which was causing the spark plug to foul under heavy loads. I replaced both coils, thinking the second one was about to fail. After installation, I walked through thick grass for about an hour without any problems. The engine was still under Kawasaki's three-year warranty, but both nearby dealerships were unable to reach it for at least three weeks. Couldn't go that long without mowing. Since this was an intermittent error, it would probably require multiple trips to the dealership anyway. so go
