In the field of binoculars, these prices are below average. I have had expensive Swarovski and Steiner in the past and they are comparable in terms of quality, fit and functionality. I can't vouch for the quality of the internal build as I won't open it for review. As you know, the reliability of an optical device is hidden inside. The materials used to mount a lens, for example, can make a big difference in terms of durability in the event of a fall. Plastic internals will not survive like aluminum or brass. Optically they are clear and bright with virtually no chromatic or spherical distortion across the entire field of view. My wife uses it for work to read shipping container serial numbers from about 100 yards away, day or night, even in inclement weather. The combination of magnification and lens size ensures sufficient brightness at night with acceptable stability and weight. Larger targets would make it brighter but much heavier. Higher magnification would have darkened the image (without increasing lens size) and made manual image stabilization more difficult. It's a good compromise size and would be a great pair of binoculars for bird watching, short range target shooting, hunting, concerts, etc. or other outdoor activities when viewing relatively stable objects. They're not ideal for field sports, as higher power can limit your field of view and result in blurry images. Based on previous Nikon experience, they should last for many years.
