Stable stand, easy-to-rotate base

Plastic feels solid. The platform closes securely when lowered. When lifted, the leg fits securely into the grooves and stays in place on impact. Rubber feet keep it on the table. The rotating mechanism (lazy susan) is smooth and works well even with a heavy laptop. It looks sturdy enough to last quite a while. Two fold-out flaps prevent the laptop from slipping off. The tabs have a small lip at the top to catch the edge of the laptop and prevent it from sliding over the ledges. They are *just* too short for my gaming laptop when the stand is in the lowest position, but just right when the stand is raised one notch. So the steeper you set the stand, the more effective the protrusions will be. It can be used on your knees but is not designed for that. Nothing too sharp on the underside, and it's strong enough to take a little bump from even a 2.4 kg (5.3 lb) 16-inch laptop. However, it is a bit clumsy to move the whole thing as it is too heavy. Just hold the base and when you lift the platform under the laptop the base will hang. So I put one hand under the front corner of the base and the other hand gently under the opposite corner of the laptop. and move it gently, making sure it's all together so the leg doesn't rise out of its slot. The front fold-out tabs have sharp edges and can crush or scratch your palm if you use the trackpad frequently. It's not like a nail file or some sandpaper won't fix it if it bothers you. Overall, this is a solid product that does what it promises.
