I've been using them for 6 months now. You look beautiful. Initially they lay flat (I bought them to replace thin silicones that keep twisting). That's all I can say positively. First, they are not heat resistant. I still have to use plate coasters to protect the table or condensation will form under the napkin. The biggest problem, however, is that the weave is open and very wide. This allows food and liquids to seep through them onto the table (helmet #1) and solidify in the tissues (helmet #2), requiring you to clean them under running water. Some things won't come out; I spilled Frank's Red Hot on one of them and now it has a permanent orange stain. My kids drip yogurt on it and it hardens quickly and even washing under water is very difficult to remove. At first I just wiped them down after use, but eventually I had to start washing them in the sink with soap and a sponge, which is a messy affair. . The water fills the fabric and makes it heavy so they flop when I try to clean them and then the water splashes everywhere as I clean them. Subsequent drying is another problem. Even after towel drying, water stays in the fabric, so I let them air dry. The only place I really need to do this is on the backs of my dining room chairs and then they dry out with a crease on it so they no longer lay flat. that's not what you want. I'm looking for a replacement.
