Review on πŸ“‘ White Tram Amateur Dual Band Base Antenna (Model 1481) with Enhanced SEO by Curtis Donjuan

Poor durability. - Antennas

The seller was fine, I'll say right away. The problem is a poor quality tram antenna. In less than a year the SWR on the FM side went high. I dismantled the antenna, no water, no sign of it, everything looked normal, reassembled, checked, the same, high SWR on VHF. Tried to contact Tram, no luck, no support. Further dismantling revealed several problems. The small ceramic cap in the base load was bad and the solder joints replaced and repaired, the SWR was still high so upon closer inspection every solder joint that went in was full of micro cracks so I refilled all the solder joints. cleaned with new solder and all connections, still high SWR on FM, finally I disassembled the whole load part and removed the connector, there was very little solder on the internal connection and it was completely broken. After the repair, the antenna worked again. It's a lot of work to get something working again that could have been avoided if Tram had done quality control. Who knows how long this will last, the swaying in the wind puts a lot of strain on the solder joints inside. When it is closed again, it goes into the recycle bin.

Pros
  • Doping πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Without a machine gun

Update: Very big, with high gain, works well, just be sure to assemble it correctly.
