Review on πŸ”§ Stanley MR77 Swivel Head Riveter: Advanced Riveting Tool for Flexible Fastening Needs by Jason Mitts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Solid workmanship - quality tool - good size for large rivets

I've needed a new rivet tool for years. The ones I've had to the point where I practically had to take them apart to remove the shank every time I installed a rivet. But it's just one of those things that you don't use that often, so I kept telling myself that I probably won't need it again in my life. Well, I'm 65 years old and I've said that at least 10 times in the last few years. Here I am finally with my new riveting tool. It wasn't an easy choice as there are so many and none are made in the US - glad I was able to find it anyway and all listed had mixed reviews. So it felt like a small risk whichever I chose. I've tried to stay away from anything that mentions the number of rivets you came with the tool or carrying case. Those two factors are not important as I need a tool, not rivets, let alone a case. I'm not sure why anyone would need a hand tool case. Anyway, I've always had good luck with Stanley tools so I finally decided to go down this route and based on the quality of the tool I feel I made the right choice. It is very solid and has a good weight. I didn't care if it had a rotating crown, but having had the opportunity to test it I really like the feature. The size of the tool is considerable, much larger than my old one, so it has a fairly wide handle. This isn't a problem for me as I have large hands, but for someone with smaller hands it can be difficult to use just one hand. However, as you install larger rivets, you'll appreciate the leverage the longer handles give you. Considering the quality of the tool, the price is right and I would recommend it to any of the "sets" available. In my opinion if you need both a tool and rivets, buy this tool and get some rivets separately - well done. I am sure that I have to buy this tool last and can recommend it without hesitation.
