Review on 🔌 Weatherproof Power Adapter for Blink XT / XT2 & All-New Blink Outdoor Indoor Camera - White by Jason Cho

Installed and tested yesterday. Batteries outside the chamber. It didn't take long for me to realize that the camera was only recording 2 second clips and then turned off. Then another 2 seconds of clip and off. Please note that the Blink camera requires 5 volts and at least 1 amp to operate. The power pack of this product is designed for an output voltage of 5 volts and a maximum current of 1 ampere. It takes 25 feet of wire to carry current, of course the current drops across that 25 feet, it's just physics. This device cannot supply enough power to fully operate the camera. To test this theory, I replaced the power supply with a 5 volt, 2.3 amp Samsung phone power supply and used the same 25 foot cord. The camera works perfectly. You can slow charge your phone with this product's block and use the phone block for Blink, but I'm sure that's not what you intended with the $14.99 purchase. I would like to add that the cord itself is very comfortable. This is a flat cable covered in a rubber/satin material. It has a 90 degree connector where it meets the flicker and offers a nice fit. Connection points must be sealed watertight. 2 stars because it doesn't work properly on its own.
