Review on πŸ“± DuraFolio Case and Viewing Stand for iPad Mini 1, 2, and 3 (Retina Display) by Speck Products (SPK-A2692) by Charles Purnell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great case despite minor flaws

Honestly I would give this case 4.5 stars if I could because I love it and it protects my device beautifully, but it has a few minor annoyances. Pros β€’ Strong and durable materials yet streamlined/slim β€’ The iPad is VERY secure in a case (and yes it's pretty hard to remove which you need if your device is dropped) β€’ Good range of viewing/stand angles don't move β€’ Barely noticeable edge casing keeps screen upright if dropped Cons β€’ Magnets don't always turn off screen when closed β€’ When opening and folding, the edges of the corners can be sharp and uncomfortable when held in a certain way be (see photo). I'm inclined to down this product review to 5 stars because a month ago my iPad mini 2 fell 4 feet onto a concrete floor and landed in a corner. so far in this case. The case fully protected my device and the case itself was not damaged at all. In this case I let my toddler walk around with my iPad knowing he can't reach it and it's well protected on all sides. I mitigate my minor issues with the case by keeping it centered (rather than resting the corner in my palm) when the case is folded and simply manually putting the device to sleep when I close it. These are very small concessions to the excellent protection this case provided for my device last year.

Pros
  • Magnetic lid for auto sleep/wake and secure closure
Cons
  • too dull
