Bass tubes really outperform soundbars in this price range. But it doesn't matter how good the sound is if you can't access it. We sit about 10 feet directly in front of the TV. There is a 6cm gap at the bottom, as the Samsung stand protrudes in front of the TV we had to place it at the back. The remote control doesn't work if we don't walk towards it directly. My husband went ahead and bought a soundbar mount to mount above the TV. Now it works sporadically and often not. When that happens, it's because we've repeatedly pressed the button while moving the remote to find a sweet spot - and it never happens in the same spot twice. Things to note we connected an optical cable and no BT devices are used in the house so nothing that could cause interference. Too bad, because we really wanted this soundbar to be fun. In the next few days we will decide whether we leave it or not. UPDATE: This company contacted me after reading my review and offered to send me an updated version with a different remote (well, same remote, different functionality). They were very generous and sent a new unit without asking, which we received two or three days later. It works - even behind my TV! I was even able to use my universal remote with it - that's a HUGE bonus. This company really cares about their customers. They went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with our purchase.
