This item works great and is exactly as described. This is a "cap" adapter that converts a 14mm European base (E14) bulb to an American 12mm base (E12) to accommodate a Candelabra (or C7) base bulb. Lamps bought in Europe. always have a socket 1 or 2 mm larger than American lamps, so they can only be used with lamps rated for their 220 volts. This product adapts the socket for lamps rated for 110 volts. Of course you need a "plug" adapter.
