Mixed feelings. Looks great out of the box. Like stylish motorcycle boots from Sidi Racing. I put it in the middle of the living room and just looked at it. I didn't want to get wet and dirty. After getting over that feeling when I wrote to Bissell's CEO to complete his industrial design team, which meant my friend told me not to mess around, I filled the top container with hot water and got to work . It's tiring. My fingers ached as I gripped the sleek but ergonomically awkward grip and trigger. Did they make prototypes before going into production? Has the Bissell CEO had this experience? Doubtful because he has a dozen maids in his mansion. I hope that one day I can replace my hand with cybernetics so my fingers don't hurt from this thing. I'm a tall man, my girlfriend is slim and frail, so I'd prefer her not to use that heavy object and drag and push it on the floor. Unless I want her to look like she's on steroids, because that thing will make your muscles stronger. I was distracted. I rented a large red carpet shampoo a few months ago and this Bissell does well in its performance. To my surprise, the swamp filled with dirty water. My house was dirty! It might not suck as much as the commercial version but its upside is that I have it and will be using it every few months, carpet smells clean and fresh. FYI, my friend really didn't like the free sanitizer that came with this vacuum. Wow, the smell is only marginally better than the candy-sweet stuff they clean the New York City subways with. Probably to drive away cockroaches and homeless people. I digress again. I used water and vinegar, then water. Much better results with no synthetic smell in the house. Maybe next time I'll use regular Dove soap, crushed. TIP: Wear foam earplugs. He is loud! TIP: It needs a REAL cleaning after use. Bissell recommends rinsing the carpet with clean water. I tried that but only soaked the carpet with the machine and threw out wet fluff that looked like cat puke. I put it in my tub with a shallow basin of clean water (to avoid refilling the clean tank) and did it back and forth with MUCH better results. - stops absorption. Then I turned the machine upside down and ran a stream of hot water out of the hose to get rid of the stubborn lint in the brush compartment. Not easy, wear shorts because you will get wet from the spray. The nozzles have a transparent double-laminated lid that came off with some effort, and I ran the same hot water hose into the suction holes - narrow slits that allow debris to pass through on its way to the waste bin. Expect at least half an hour to clean this beast. You will sleep better. I'm not the wrong student of Bissell or Revane, I wasn't paid. Many Thanks.
