A 4 star cumulative rating is just as encouraging as reports of missing parts or work in progress earning lower ratings are alarming. However, I decided to take the risk for $9. I missed the details. In particular 4ea. Head bolts but at least all rubber inserts were present and all holes were drilled/tapped. However, one of the holes was obviously finished after painting the parts (see the exposed metal surfaces for one of the threaded holes and one of the pin holes in the picture), and ironically it was the ONLY pair of holes out of four that appears to have been machined, which is nominally square would have been. One of the remaining three holes was also partially cross-threaded. A trip to the hardware store for a faucet and four stainless steel socket head screws cost me $9. Spent perhaps an hour fixing damaged carvings and my jeweler's files to open up the worst countersinks to attempt to manually assemble the assembled halves closer to the square. Does the offset of the clamp halves make a difference during installation? To be honest I can't say anything as I didn't install anything until I manually did everything I could. But (!) the apparent leeway given by the design of the rubber inserts can minimize installation problems. The prongs in the aluminum clips also fit very well with the molded rubber inserts, so that not everything is necessarily lost here. The part also holds securely for my purposes (turn signals for my motorcycle). So. My 2 stars. The design intent is solid and many reviews confirm this. I received a bad item that cannot be discounted. What I wanted to avoid was ranting that this is 1 star crap because some things about it are still good.
