I used it on a cotton sweatshirt and after 3 consecutive washes you can still see where I frayed the clothes. Works great on carpet stains! Just don't buy this if you need to manually clean delicate items. You will destroy them. It has the stiffness of a super hard toothbrush. The search continues for a soft brush that I could use on something as durable as sportswear. Jeans! You can use this for heavy jeans or work pants. I will say that for my medium sized male hands the shape and size are great and they don't fall apart. I have no idea what "stretch" is as a feature of this brush.
