The Skycase arrived today. It replaced another popular case which I liked a lot, but I wanted one with a more substantial way to handle my pencil. The little pocket for charging is very functional, if a bit tight. I suspect it will wear in a bit, but I hope not too much. (I lost a pencil that slipped out of an elastic loop). I also like the substantial loop on the top of the case—provides an alternative perch for the pencil. Others commented that the grip for the iPad itself is insufficient but that’s not what I see. I snugged the iPad into the frame of the grip. It needs to be worked into place gently, but once seated, it seems very capable of hanging on to the iPad. I also not that the edge doesn’t interfere with the swipe action, which is nice. On my previous case, I had to get my finger in behind the grip. This is an unanticipated benefit. My first impression is very positive so I hope it holds up. If so I will be very happy with this purchase.1 year update. I have been using this case for a year. I am VERY impressed. My iPad has been protected and my pencil at no risk of slipping away. The case supports all the ways I use my iPad. I flip the back over my computer perch attached to my Ekornes chair and it is a perfect angle for reading and writing. I have slung the back over my steering wheel to host a zoom call when away from home. not driving of course. It’s a tiny bit bulkier (and stronger) than other cases I’ve had, but it still fits into my small tote/handbag. It just does the job. Please make a version for the (apparently) soon to be released iPad Pro. My new one will need a case!2 year update. I have just purchased a new iPad Pro (2021) and it will be delivered in July. I am on the lookout for a case for it, but am disappointed that Skycase has decided to downgrade its case designs. There are many "best things" about the Skycases I have had (2 of them) but the rugged fabric, the option to charge the pencil in a formed molded "nest" protected by the folder clasp, the substantial elastic side pencil holder are standouts. I could go on. Sadly, the "nest" seems to be gone from the newer cases, the material is vinyl (or so it appears) and the superior protection that once characterized these cases seems to be price reduced out of them. I have a faint hope that the 2021 cases will be better, but I may be looking for something else. Why oh why would a company take a near perfect product and make it ordinary?
