Pretty bright light. I don't know why people think it comes with a battery let alone what you can get at Walmart! You have to provide your own battery or power supply, but that's fine because I'd rather put the entire budget on the fire. The panels shape the light well and this is great for performances and wedding dance floors. I don't want to take large flashlights with me because they're a bit impractical and the batteries for them cost a few hundred dollars. It allows me to throw a lot of light and make everything pretty easy and I'm happy about that. I highly recommend them for this purpose, but they can't soften the light unless you use some kind of mesh.
