I was positively surprised!
I have to say I have never felt such soft and supple harness leather. It's better than most of my other bridle leather gear. The leather is supple, the edges are smooth and there is no break-in period - it feels like I've owned and cared for it for years. No scuffs or scrapes. I was hesitant to buy this because it was a harness leather and I expected it to be stiff, rough and dry (I know it's a harness leather!). Kudos to Weaver for making such a quality product at such a good price. This is a well made headpiece that will last for years. You will not be disappointed.
