Review on 300-Piece Dritz Home Hammered Decorative Nails, Antique Brass Finish, 7/16-Inch For Home Decor Projects by Paul Abs

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good for spot replacements

I bought these as replacement for hammered head nails on a chair which was my grandmother's. It had been reupholstered using these nails, and since some were missing, the fabric was loose in places. These were a good match in size and color for the nails on the chair. The problem I found was that since my chair is an antique, the wood was hard, and some of the nail shafts bent - about 1/3 of them, to be precise. Those nails which didn't bend did look original, and if it hadn't been for such a high loss of product, I would have rated these higher. If I had been able to do so, I would have stapled the fabric in place with my electric stapler, then used the strips of decorative tacks which you can get at Joann's or similar places, which are placed evenly, and only one every few nails needs to be hammered into place. However, I didn't want to have to reupholster the entire chair, so this was the best solution.
