Review on 🌟 High-performance Garmin 010-01772-00 Foretrex 601: A Trustworthy 2-Inch Companion by Sean Bouchard

I wish Garmin would add some features like start line or head lift/movement from Quantix

I use it for sailboat racing, big display and buttons I can use with gloves is very important to me . Ease of use and accuracy of the compass are also important, everything else is secondary to me, so your mileage may vary. In my experience it's just a 401 update, bigger screen, 3-axis compass (big win) but no other improvements. I would like to see Garmin add some features like start line or altitude/course from Quantix. But the 601 wins because Quantix is difficult to use and has a tiny screen. The main thing I want is GPS time to the second on every screen, or at least on the timer screen and data field options to the second. Buy a separate Quick Fit watch strap, the strap that comes with it is rubbish. I don't understand why the straps are different from my previous generation Quantix straps. The default resolution (medium) is too small for my tracking needs. I want the permission setting to be defined for auto. And of course all Garmin manuals lack detail, but that sets a new low. If you don't have a GPS wristband this is probably your best bet, but there are better choices if you don't need a wearable. I recommend not buying a GPS that you don't need until the BCM47755 with Level 5 decoding is released. It should have an accuracy of 30 cm (1 foot), compared to today's devices which appear to be around 10 m.
