This DVD player was purchased for bedroom use. I was very pleased with the easy setup and excellent video quality. From unpacking to full installation, it only took 5 minutes. I only use the component outputs and the L/R audio channels. This is a basic DVD player that only has component and composite video outputs. The sound is provided by L/R and DD RF. In that regard, this player is excellent. Please note that there is no S-Video output or optical audio output. In other words, Toshiba is a good choice for regular TVs. It is not intended for use with HDTVs etc. It certainly offers better video quality compared to entry-level players from Sony, Philips and RCA. Ability to deal with corrupt disks is also very good (I save some for testing). The Toshiba SD4200 can also output 480 pixels, which may be useful for some users. Haven't checked. In summary, a great player with all the basic features at a very attractive price. Highly recommended.
