I like the idea, but it cannot be implemented well with this tool. First let me say that I already have R&P gears installed. I had a proform tool that always worked well, but I sold it after I stopped making cars. Now it's my turn again and wanted to save a few bucks. Firstly, regarding the tool, the white pin that fits into the recess on the gear head is too long, making it impossible to hold the tool flush with the gear. Everything gets confusing here. Secondly, there is no real way to ensure that the caliper bolt is touching the trunnion in the correct place. I had to take three or four measurements and never got the same thing twice. Needless to say he took four measurements and averaged them, pressed the bearing in and installed everything. After installing the holder and setting the correct clearance, the color pattern came off and now I have to take it all apart and try again. I ordered a real gear depth tool and threw it away. Sorry Ratech, it just doesn't work.
