Great idea, poor execution

Didn't sit flush on the gear head so I had to shave off the centering pin. Also, getting an accurate measurement is difficult at best because there are too many variables. It was difficult to keep the device level while holding it in the correct position. At the same time, you need to pass the caliper through the hole vertically. The slightest deviation in any of them, and the measurements will change significantly. Great idea, bad execution.

Good idea but don't expect perfection

If you're in trouble this will get you closer but don't expect perfection. The fact that you will most likely use a square face on the end of a pair of calipers while bearing bore radius is involved means it will never be perfect. I measured 10 times and got 8 different measurements. They were all within a few thousandths of each other, so I averaged them and used what I got. I never got what I thought was an acceptable template, so I ordered a puck tool to get accurate measurements.

It just doesn't work.

I like the idea, but it cannot be implemented well with this tool. First let me say that I already have R&P gears installed. I had a proform tool that always worked well, but I sold it after I stopped making cars. Now it's my turn again and wanted to save a few bucks. Firstly, regarding the tool, the white pin that fits into the recess on the gear head is too long, making it impossible to hold the tool flush with the gear. Everything gets confusing here. Secondly, there is no real way to ensure
