I am a 1 or 5 star reviewer, don't waste time with anything in between. It's either really cool or so bad you want to know so I can write a review. Still, this is a 5 star purchase. My overall expectations were pretty low as I was convinced this box wasn't going to do the job for me. However. I've moved on and this is now in my box: 13 necklaces 7 bracelets 3 anklets 1 watch 26 rings 54 pairs of earrings 9 pendants/charms/pins You should be aware that there is tiny room left for another ring or two, however basically this box is fully packed but not in a way that I have to rummage through it for things, I can still easily get what I need even if there is more than one item in a few drawers. I'm an OCD freak and need to have easy access to and organize things. This box makes me really happy just knowing that everything is in one organized place (before I had earrings in my bedside drawer, rings and necklaces in a safe, my watch and a few bracelets in my desk drawer etc.) d. ). There is one downside and I have to mention it. The box breathes and smokes, probably because of the glue. I've been letting it air out for the past few days and either I've really gotten used to the smell or it's actually a lot better than it was. I don't worry about it holding up, it's like new carpet, it will air out eventually. Two thumbs up and a 5 star rating from a 51 year old California lady. Hooray. I only gave this 3 stars as a gift and that's my opinion of what it's worth. I think a jewelry box is a very personal item and I would never choose it for anyone else. As for the locking mechanism, many people have said that they wish you could lock the entire coffin, but the reality is that when someone enters your home, they will take everything and walk out with it. The top compartment with a lock is enough to pry your fingers at home.
